I came across the most amazing story today! It's not a new story, but is new to me and it literally took my breath away!

It is the story of Rex a blind savant who finds himself and his potential for greatness through the power of music. What is it he finds exactly?? He finds the secret door to the outside world. He is blind and exhibits traits of autism. Sensory overload cause this young boy to recoil at sounds around him and to avoid touching anything, at any cost. Music is a powerful tool in healing and therapy with special needs children. Music therapy has been proven to facilitate "contact, interaction, self-awareness, learning, self-expression, communication, and personal development" (Canadian Association for Music Therapy).

I know there are many more Rex's out there who are waiting for the chance to open the door to the outside world! Maybe music will help them find freedom, too!
